Fuquay Fall Festivities

Civic Groups · Food · Fuquay-Varina · Music · Small Town Tales · Tip Talk

Fuquay-Varina is serving up a classic, lively lineup of autumn community events this October 2026. From savory, competitive food festivals to spooky community nights, there is a lot of local flavor to take in.

Barbecue & Live Music

The local spotlight is shining brightly on American Legion Post 116 this month, hosting a massive weekend for barbecue lovers and music fans:

  • Live Music with Partly Rowdy Band (Friday, Oct 16, 7:00 PM): Kick off a weekend of festivities with an energetic, outdoor live music night in the parking lot. There will be a roaring bonfire and a great casual vibe.
  • 6th Annual Whole Hog and Pork Shoulder Cook-Off (Saturday, Oct 17, 12:00 PM): This official, NC Pork Council-sanctioned BBQ competition brings local pitmasters together. Stop by for the tasting plates, live music from the Whiskey River band, bonfires, and a vote in the People's Choice Award. Pro-tip: Bring your own lawn chairs!

Halloween & Fall Festivities

As October winds down, the town shifts into full spooky season mode:

  • Outdoor Movie Night: Little Shop of Horrors (Friday, Oct 23, 7:00 PM): Head over to The Mason Jar Lager Company for a free, outdoor screening of the 1986 horror-comedy musical. Grab a local craft beer from the taproom, set up your lawn chair, and enjoy the show.
  • Annual Halloween Party (Friday, Oct 30, 7:00 PM): Also at American Legion Post 116, this public event includes a costume contest, music by DJ Malcolm, and a community potluck where guests are invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
